Pennsylvania Tears Foundation Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Tears is more than just an organization. It is a family of people who share a bond that no one ever
wishes to have – the loss of an infant. We understand the depth of sorrow and the magnitude of
grief that accompany such a heartbreaking event, and we are here to offer comfort and solace to
others who are facing the same ordeal.

Our founder, Sarah Slack, was inspired to create Tears after her own personal tragedy.
She lost her son, Jesse, and had to resort to a garage sale to raise enough money for his headstone.
She wondered how many other families were struggling with the same financial burden on top of their
emotional anguish, and she decided to do something about it. She decided to help one family who
was in a similar situation. After successfully helping one family, she realized there were many
more families in similar need. Out of this great need, Sarah created the Tears Foundation,
which has since grown into an international organization. Tears provides financial assistance to
families who need help with funeral expenses for their infants, as well as emotional support and
counseling to help them cope with their loss. We are a community of love, hope and healing
for those who have endured the unthinkable.
