The Great American Banana Split Princess Pageant is an annual event in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, part of the larger Banana Split Celebration, where local girls (around ages 9-13) compete in interviews, introductions, and formal wear to become the Banana Split Princess, a role that involves representing the town and its iconic dessert invention, offering scholarship opportunities, and developing confidence and stage presence for the participants.  The pageant offers the princess an opportunity to engage with community, serve as a volunteer at local events, and speak publicly at several events throughout the year. The experience aims to build confidence, skills, and sportsmanship, offering a platform for personal growth.
