New Makers Market to be part of Blue & Gold Celebration; Seeking vendors to share their wares with

GREENSBURG, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is finalizing its plans for its Blue & Gold Celebration, a combination of Alumni Weekend, Families Weekend, and Homecoming. A new event, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, is the Blue & Gold Makers Market. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chambers Hall Gymnasium (University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, 150 Finoli Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601) and is open to the public at no charge.
 
“We have a nice range of vendors already registered,” said Brian Root, director of Student Activities and First-Year Experience at Pitt-Greensburg, who is managing the event. “In addition to the handcrafted items, we’ll also have vendors selling homemade scones, cookies, chocolate-dipped pretzels, and candy.”
 
Root shared the names and products of some of the vendors who have already registered:

  • JlohrCreations - 3D paper crafts, tumblers, keychains, t-shirts & stickers;
  • Sheila's Scones n'at - Scones & Cookies; 
  • Crochet by Hser Nay - Crochet flowers, keychains, & car décor;
  • Gynger Kat Designs - Forever plants, jewelry, & woven items;
  • Mama O's Creations - Handmade wood crafts and resin creations;
  • Michelle's Wreaths and Home Decor - Homemade wreaths & painted door hangers;
  • dragonflydropz - Crochet items, such as accessories, clothes & other practical items;
  • Made In Love - Handmade jewelry & magnets; and
  • Candy Cove Unlimited - handmade & nostalgic candy, Pittsburgh-inspired gifts, apparel & interactive sweet treat experience. 
Pitt-Greensburg invites local crafters and artisans to register for a table and join their counterparts from the campus community in sharing their wares with campus visitors. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for vendor setup. Registration is $30 for community vendors (Pitt-Greensburg faculty, staff, students, and alumni receive a discount). Register here. All registered vendors will receive one 6-foot table and a 10x10-foot indoor setup space. The deadline to secure a vendor table/space is Sept. 25.
