SUMMARY:Table Reading of an Original Play: Butler Vs. Bernays
DESCRIPTION:StoryZ\, a theatre company based in Westmoreland County in its third operating year\, announces a table reading of a new and original work entitled Butler vs Bernays\, written by StoryZ Business Manager John Paul Ritchey.\n\n\n\nThe play presents imagined encounters between two men: Major General Smedley Darlington Butler. a famous U.S. Marine and two-time Medal of Honor recipient who earned the nickname the "Fighting Quaker\," and Edward Louis Bernays\, a pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda\, referred to in his obituary as "the father of public relations."\n\n\n\nWhy a table reading? It's a low-cost\, low-stress trial run of a brand-new play. Actors stand or sit with scripts in hand\, with minimal costumes and no full sets\, so the playwright can hear the script out loud\, test the pacing of the story\, gauge audience reactions\, and get the spectators involved in the process. We invite our patrons to come and be a part of our creative process!
